Daniel Gil de Tejada is one of the most successful conductors of his generation. He has been awarded in six international orchestral competitions\u00a0 which has led him to conduct in Italy, France, Poland, Bulgaria and Romania.<\/p>\n

Born in Valencia, Daniel Gil de Tejada finished his Piano and Choir Conducting Studies at the \u201cConservatorio Superior de Musica Joaqu\u00edn Rodrigo\u201d of Valencia with \u00a0Eduardo Cifre<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In 1999 he was awarded a scholarship from the \u201cValencian Institute of Music\u201d and moved to London to study conducting at the \u201cRoyal College of Music<\/strong>\u201c, where he got a \u201cPostgraduate in Orchestra Conducting\u201d and \u201cPostgraduate in Advanced in Orchestra Conducting\u201d with professors\u00a0Neil Thomson<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0John Carewe<\/strong>. In the Royal College he usually worked with the orchestras \u201cRCM Sinfonietta\u201d, \u201cRCM Orchestra\u201d and \u201cRCM Synphony\u201d. He was awarded the \u201cAugust Mann Prize\u201d for conducting and the \u201cNorman Mar Prize\u201d twice. Furthermore, he studied composition with British composer Edwin Roxburgh.<\/p>\n

Upon his return from London, and after working at the\u00a0 Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona as assistant Choir director, he begins his relationship with \u00d3pera de Sabadell where he has conducted more than thirty operas such as Manon<\/em> by J. Massenet, Rom\u00e9o et Juliette<\/em> by Ch. Gounod, Le nozze di Figaro<\/em>, Don Giovanni<\/em>, Cos\u00ec fan tutte<\/em> and Die Zauberfl\u00f6te<\/em> by Mozart, La Cenerentola<\/em> and Il Barbiere di Siviglia<\/em> by G. Rossini,Manon Lescaut<\/em>, La Boh\u00e8me<\/em>,Suor Angelica<\/em> and Gianni Schicchi<\/em>, Tosca<\/em>, Turandot<\/em> by G. Puccini, Lucia di Lammermoor<\/em> by Donizetti, Norma<\/em> by Bellini, Traviata<\/em>, Don Carlo<\/em>, Otello<\/em> and Falstaff<\/em>, by Verdi,\u00a0 among other.<\/p>\n<\/div>

He was the second-prize winner at the \u201cIII ConcorsoInternazionale per direttored\u2019Opera Luigi Mancinelli\u201d in Orvieto, the third-prize winner at the \u201cX ConcorsoInternazionale per Direttored\u2019Orquestra A. Pedrotti\u201d in Trento and the 1st prize at the \u201cXV Concorso per Giovanni Direttored\u2019OrquestradellaUnioneEuropea 2008\u201d in Spoleto, which led to his conducting debut in Italy with L\u2019elisird\u2019amore<\/em> by G. Donizetti at the Teatro Sperimentale di Spoleto in the 63rd Opera Season and Il MatrimonioSegreto<\/em> by D. Cimarosa in the 64th season.<\/p>\n

In May 2015 he won the 1st prize in the contest \u201cOperation of the Black Sea Opera\u201d in Constanta, Romania and debuted the following year in that city with\u00a0La Boh\u00e8me<\/em>by G. Puccini.<\/p>\n<\/div>

In December 2015 he debuted in the\u00a0Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona\u00a0replacing the conductor \u00a0MarcoArmiliato, conducting\u00a0Lucia di Lammermoor<\/em> of G. Donizetti\u00a0together with singers\u00a0Juan Diego Florez and Elena Mosuc, with\u00a0great success of public and critic.<\/p>\n

In December of 2016 he conducted\u00a0Cavalleria Rusticana<\/em>\u00a0(P. Mascagni) and Pagliacci<\/em> (R. Leoncavallo) in the\u00a049th Stagione of Jesi, Italy, with the G. Rossini Orchestra.<\/p>\n

In 2017 he conducted again in the\u00a0Gran Teatre del Liceu\u00a0 the\u00a0Concert of winners of the International Singing Competition Vi\u00f1as\u00a0and in the\u00a0Real Theater of Madrid, together with the\u00a0Symphonic Orchestra of Madrid.<\/p>\n

In January 2018 he won\u00a0the second prize in the \u201cFirst European Union Leadership Competition\u201d in Sofia, Bulgaria. In June he debuted with the\u00a0\u201cOrquesta de Valencia\u201d\u00a0in a concert organized by La Caixa with \u201cGrandes coros de \u00d3pera\u201d.<\/p>\n

In September 2018, he won the\u00a0first prize at the \u201cOpera Nice C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur Conducting Competition\u201d in Nice, France.<\/p>\n

He has conducted Orquesta Sinf\u00f3nica de Madrid, Orquesta Sinf\u00f3nica del Gran Teatre del Liceu, Orquesta de Valencia, Orquestra Sinf\u00f3nica del Vall\u00e9s, Orquesta de C\u00f3rdoba, OrquestrePhilharmonique de Nice, Orchestra Sinf\u00f3nica G. Rossini, Orchestra Haydn di Bolzano e Trento, Orchestra del Teatro Sperimentale di Spoleto, WitoldLutoslawskiChamberPhilharmonia, amongother.<\/p>\n

His upcoming commitments include the operas “Il barbiere di Siviglia and” Rigoletto “with the Fundaci\u00f3 \u00d2pera Catalunya, the zarzuela” La revoltosa “with the Canarian Friends of Zarzuela and a symphonic concert with the Kod\u00e1ly Filharmonikusok Debrecen orchestra in Hungary.<\/p>\n

Recently, he has been appointed Musical Director and Deputy Artistic Director of Amics de l\u00b4\u00d2pera de Sabadell \/ \u00d2pera Catalunya.<\/p>\n<\/div>
